SUMMER SCHOOL: ECOLOGICAL RESTORATION AND THE NATURE RESTORATION REGULATION – (EU 2024/1991)
Training Objective
Discover how to apply the Nature Restoration Law in real-world contexts: urban, rural, and marine environments. The program includes lectures, field trips, and hands-on workshops with experts, researchers, and professionals in the sector, offering the opportunity to learn directly from leading practitioners of ecological restoration in Italy.
From theory to practice: designing ecological restoration interventions according to international standards (SER, IUCN).
A fully funded opportunity supported by the National Biodiversity Future Center.
Purpose
- Regulatory framework and fundamentals of ecological restoration
- Tools and case studies at different scales
- Field excursions: Genoa metropolitan area and Cinque Terre; visits to three sites in the Po Park (Piedmont): Isola Sant’Antonio and Valenza
- Applied laboratory activities
