ALGAE

Objective

The project aims to develop and validate an innovative model integrating the energy industry with microalgal biotechnology, with the goal of valorizing industrial CO₂ as a resource for the sustainable production of high value-added biomass.

The project seeks to establish a demonstrative and replicable cluster capable of integrating industrial production with the circular bioeconomy, contributing to process decarbonization and the creation of new value chains in the feed and nutraceutical sectors.

Role of MICAMO LAB

MICAMO LAB contributed to the technical and scientific activities by carrying out food analyses aimed at evaluating the potential extraction of protein fractions and chlorophyll from the produced biomass. The company also conducted risk assessments of the plant, chemometric studies for qualitative sample characterization, and research on the potential use of biomass in feed applications, particularly in aquaculture.

MICAMO LAB’s involvement focused on ensuring the safety, quality, and industrial scalability of the results obtained.
