P.Ri.S.Ma MED1

Objective

To promote an innovative model for managing waste and by-products generated by the fisheries, aquaculture, and recreational boating sectors, fostering sustainable solutions in compliance with current regulatory frameworks.

Activity Description

As a consultant, MICAMO LAB prepared a technical report aimed at characterizing the main demersal fishing activities and the target species involved. The study provided both qualitative and quantitative estimates of waste generated by the presence of species below the minimum legal size, while also analyzing logistical and regulatory aspects related to their onboard management and landing operations.

The activity also assessed the feasibility of potential transformation processes for organisms subject to the landing obligation, with the aim of identifying possible valorization and reuse pathways in compliance with safety and sustainability requirements.
